Announcements and Communications on November 16th, 2020
- Announcement from the Nuclear Waste Management Organization saying they'd been asked to lead the review; their new release is HERE
- Minister of Natural Resources Minister Seamus O'Regan news release announcing the review, including having asked the NWMO "to lead a dialogue to develop an integrated strategy for Canada’s radioactive waste through close collaboration among waste owners and producers, Indigenous peoples and other interested Canadians"; that release is HERE
- Natural Resources Canada launched their web site, and it outlines the review process (such as it is) but makes no mention of the NWMO having a role in the review; the web site is HERE
- Email from former CNSC Director of Wastes and Decommissioning Karine Glenn announcing herself as Strategic Policy Director at the NWMO and that " the NWMO will be tasked with leading a parallel engagement process with Canadians and Indigenous peoples to inform the development of an integrated radioactive waste management strategy" that email is HERE
- many of us received an email from Jim Delaney, Director, Uranium and Radioactive Waste Division announcing the review; that email is HERE
- The NWMO has created a micro-site for the rad-waste review, which so far includes a letter from O'Regan to the NWMO dated November 13th;the NWMO reply dated November 16th; yet another NWMO info-graphic; and a reply from the NWMO to O'Regan dated November 16th.
